ALPE D’HUEZ is situated at 1.860 meters above sea level and is a center of a ski complex of the same name- one of the largest in the Rhone-Alpes. It one of the French ski resorts closest to us. On 10.000 acres of ski terrain there are 238 kilometers of marked trails with a vertical fall of 2.200 meters from 3.300 meters to 1.100 meters above sea level connected with 87 ski lifts (10 gondolas, 24 chairlifts and 46 surface lifts). The ski resort offers a large variety of trails (37 green, 31 blue, 32 red and 17 black), two FIS trails, two snow parks, an illuminated trail for night skiing and approximately 20 off trail routes. The highest mountaintop is the 3.330 meters high Pic Blanc. It offers a stunning view on the Rhone-Alpes and the neighboring Les 2 Alpes. Many other facilities include a large number of shops, sports shops, bars, après-ski bars, discotheques and cinemas. In the town center there is a large sports center with a tennis hall, squash terrains, a polyvalent hall, indoor pool, golf course and a skating rink – use of the sports center facilities (not including a few activities) is included in the Visalp ski pass.
